CableID Privacy Policy
Effective October 11, 2026
About this policy
CableID is operated by Leech Labs. This policy describes the CableID iOS and Android app, including its optional camera, photo selection, inventory export and support features. The initial store candidate is free and requires no account.
Photos, text and recognition
CableID uses your camera or a photo you choose to identify possible connectors and read printed cable markings. Photos, recognized text, connector suggestions and compatibility matching are processed on your device using bundled recognition resources and local Google ML Kit text recognition. CableID does not upload scan photos or recognized text for cloud or AI processing, and does not use them to train models. Suggestions require your confirmation and may be incorrect.
Inventory stored on your device
Saved cables, connector selections, quantities, names, notes, locations you enter and app-managed photos remain in app-private local storage. A location entered in a cable record is text you provide; CableID does not request GPS location. Records remain until you delete them. App-managed photos can also be removed by the cleanup controls. Android app backup is disabled. iOS device backups may include app data according to your operating-system settings.
Google ML Kit diagnostics
Google ML Kit collects diagnostic and usage metadata, including app and device information, a per-installation identifier, performance measurements, processing events, errors and API configuration. This SDK reporting is separate from photo and recognized-text content processed locally. Google uses it for diagnostics and usage analysis under its ML Kit terms and privacy practices. CableID does not offer an in-app switch for this reporting, and deleting local CableID data does not erase metadata already received by Google. Google publishes SDK disclosure information linked below. CableID does not specify a retention period for data held by Google.
Export and sharing
Profile > Export cable inventory opens your operating system share sheet with a JSON copy of your saved cable records, including any names, locations and notes you entered. Photos are excluded. Sharing is optional and the destination you select receives the exported copy. Compatibility guidance can also be shared at your request. These destinations handle copies under their own practices. Local deletion does not remove previously exported copies.
Support and website visits
Opening a privacy or support link uses your browser and connects to our public website hosted by Hostinger. The host can receive network information such as your IP address, request details and browser information in normal web server logs. These pages contain no advertising or analytics scripts. Some guide entries also offer external reference-documentation links. Opening one visits the reference provider in your browser; that provider may receive network and browser information and handles it under its own privacy practices. If you contact hello@leechlabs.io, Leech Labs and the services handling that correspondence receive your email address and the information you choose to send, to answer your request. Avoid sending sensitive photos or inventory information unless needed. We do not promise a fixed retention period for support correspondence or hosting logs; contact us with questions or deletion requests about information you have sent.
Accounts, advertising and purchases
This candidate has no enabled cloud account, cloud inventory synchronization, advertising, tracking, paid subscription or in-app purchase service. App-owned analytics and crash-reporting providers are inactive. Future changes to these features will require updated notices and store disclosures.
Sharing and security
CableID does not sell your scan photos or inventory. Off-device handling described here involves Google for SDK diagnostics, our website host and correspondence providers, or a destination you explicitly select for sharing. Google documents HTTPS encryption in transit for ML Kit Android diagnostics. Local records rely on the operating system app sandbox; no separate end-to-end encryption guarantee is made. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Deletion and choices
You can decline camera access and select connectors manually from the offline guide. You can control permissions in system settings. Profile > Delete all local data removes saved cables, scan results and app-managed photos on this device. If an operation fails, the app reports it so you can retry. Profile > Clean unused photos preserves saved records and active scan photos. Deleting a saved record removes its photo only when it is no longer referenced. Original photos in your device library are not deleted. Uninstalling removes app-private data according to your operating system. Backups, exported files and already transmitted SDK diagnostics are separate and are not erased by local deletion. There is no CableID cloud account to delete in this candidate. Contact us for questions or requests concerning support information you sent to Leech Labs.
Children and changes
CableID is a general-purpose connector reference and inventory tool. It does not provide child accounts or ask for age or birth date. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to our support contact, please contact us. Material changes to this policy will be published at this stable URL with an updated effective date.
